Taken in the evening light. This beautiful pot of cactus blooms caught my eye in the neighborhood. It is some of the first blooms of the year here in the high desert. I used photo shop to make it look like a painting. Used my Canon IOS Rebel.
I have loved photography since my grandmother gave me my first camera (a Brownie Hawkeye, which I still have) at the age of 15. I have been passionate about taking photos ever since. I have always done well in art since the first grade. I believe it is a God given gift. I started off drawing, then painting with oils. I went to acrylics as I became impatient waiting for the oils to dry. I was an emotional painter and my best was when I was inspired, so I painted fast. Later, I saw that I could capture the beauty of a moment by using my camera. People say that I can see what others don't. I am always seeing "a moment", wishing I had my camera with me all the time.
