While sitting in my courtyard I saw thus lrge butterfly near the Penstenon plant. I ran into the house to grab my camera, hoping he wouldn't leave. He didn't and gave me this pretty shot. I guess he was enjoyig it too much to move on quickly.
I have loved photography since my grandmother gave me my first camera (a Brownie Hawkeye, which I still have) at the age of 15. I have been passionate about taking photos ever since. I have always done well in art since the first grade. I believe it is a God given gift. I started off drawing, then painting with oils. I went to acrylics as I became impatient waiting for the oils to dry. I was an emotional painter and my best was when I was inspired, so I painted fast. Later, I saw that I could capture the beauty of a moment by using my camera. People say that I can see what others don't. I am always seeing "a moment", wishing I had my camera with me all the time. (usually, I do.) Photography is capturing that exceptional...
