This little mother Hummingbird came back to the same nest every year for 5 years in a row to lay her two eggs. In this photo, just one egg hatched. This little fellow is just two days old in this picture and it was a hot day. He wanted some water and she wouldn't leave him as she shielded him from the sun at this time of the day. She went to get the water after the shade covered him. I never saw one this young put his little head up like this. He came back again this year. The mother didn't. I missed her. I wrote a little book about the mother bird and her teachings to her babies over the years.
